"Just Like Calling Your Neighborhood Pharmacy"

Joel Shpigel R.Ph./CEO

With more than 30 years of experience as a pharmacist, manager, store owner, mail-order pharmacy owner, corporate executive, and clinician, Joel Shpigel brings experience and knowledge to the leadership position at Focus Express Mail Pharmacy Inc.

Starting in 1973 as a pharmacy intern for a small chain of retail pharmacies Joel worked his way up to becoming a store manager, regional manager, and vice-president. Getting the urge to be an entrepreneur, he opened his own retail pharmacy in 1990 and soon after partnered with a friend to open a national mail-order pharmacy specializing in diabetes.

Along the way, Joel learned the value and importance of giving personalized attention to his customers. He makes sure that his staff treats every everyone as a friend, just like your pharmacist did at the neighborhood corner pharmacy years ago. Combining that with over 12 years of specialized diabetes mail-order pharmacy ownership, you will see why people love the service, convenience, and warmth of their everyday dealings with Focus Express Mail Pharmacy.

A true family man, Joel loves nothing more than to be with his wife Toby, son Andrew, and their three Airedale dogs: Barkey, Prinny, and Oscar. As a true baseball fan, Joel collects all kinds of baseball memorabilia and watches as much baseball as he can (or Toby lets him).

Joel is active in his B'nai B'rith Lodge, Adelphi Lodge, and as President in 2000-2001, was instrumental in Adelphi winning the Best Lodge in Liberty Region Award, Best Lodge Newspaper Award, and Best Programming Award.

Joel graduated in 1973 from Temple University with a B.A. in Psychology and from Temple University School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in 1976. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association (ADA), National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), Society for the Advancement of Baseball Research (SABR), Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society, Adelphi Lodge of B'nai B'rith, and Old York Road Temple-Beth Am.
